This beautiful novel tries to answers the perplexing questions about religion, life, troubles etc which naturally come across one’s mind in case of calamity and loss. The main point the writer wants to emphasize is the importance of understanding the role and impact of religion in one’s life. In order words, life without the religion is indeed no life (unsatisfied) at all.

This story is focused on two characters: “Hadeedh” and “Sania” ( for some parts known as Kristina). Hadeedh, a born Muslim, who is willing to adopt Christianity for the sake of “Mental Composure” and “Solace”. In order to fulfill his desire he goes to the church and there he meets Kristina. Kristina lives in Christian community who finds Islam as a perfect and peaceful religion and she secretly decides to conivence Hadeedth with true spirit of Isalam. For this they mutually agree to meet every Sunday for discussions and sharing for their thoughts.

Basically, Hadeedh was brought up in a high-class family where religion was no more than a formality. He always found his parents fighting and ignoring each other as well as him. He always desired a proper and happy family life and for this he always prayed to Allah but nothing went according to his expectations. Then suddenly Tina (his school mate) jumped into his life and he finally realized that there is someone who really loves and cares him but this love ended shortly when he decided to stay in Pakistan instead of U.S.A in order to fight for his family and property cases ( financial loss plus family reputation). He pleaded to Allah for not loosing Tina and his parents but nothing went in his favor. Tina proved to be materialistic just like his parents but he was sure that Allah will listen to him but to his surprise he was ignored as always. “ Lakin meray parents key tarah khuda k pass b meray leay waqt nahin hey, main nay jab b ais say dua key hey mujhay kuch nahin mila. Phichlay 18 saal main nay aik jahanum main guzaray hain. Her din khuda say dua kerta tha k meray parents b saath rehna sekh lain meger kuch nahin hoaa. Khuda nay mujh say akhree cheese be chein lee”

“koi b insaan apnay mazib ko mamolee baton per nahin chorta , kuch na kuch tho aisa zaroor hota hey jo app ko kahin ander say hurt kerta hey aur main ander say hurt hoa hoon, aik baar nahin kain bar. Mera haath itnee baar jitka gaya hey k main nay haath barhana chor deya hey”

The strength of the story lies in the convincing arguments presented by Kristina to Hadeedh. Following are few arguments worth sharing.

“ Tum Muhammad (S.A.W) (P.B.U.H), k parakaroon main say hoo na? hum nahin jantay k Allah ko hum say muhabat hey ya nahin mager ais dunya ka aik insaan aisa zaroor hey jis k baray main hum bagair kiss shak k khey shaktay hain k Allah ko ais say mujhabbat hey aur wo hain Muhammad (S.A.W) (P.B.U.H) aur jis insaan say Allah nay sub say zeada muhabat key ausay b tho asmayeson say guzara hey”

“ Aur agar in main say koi aik b cheese humain nay milay tho hum Allah say shikwa kernay lagtay hain. Ausay batanay lagtay hain k aus nay humain kitna badkismat banaya. Yehan ais zameen per kitnay aisay loog hoon gay jo ais tarah mazoor (handicap) hain k zehin (mind) k elawa un k jismet ka koi hissa b kaam nahin kerta aur phir b wo Allah ka suker kertay hain. Allah say sodhay bazee nahin kee ja shaktee. Tumharay mazib badalnay say dunya main musalman katam nahin hoo jaain gay, Muhammad (S.A.W) (P.B.U.H) k manay waloon main kamee nahin aye gee. Nuksan agar koi uthay gaa tho wo tum hoo gay”

Kristina finally convinced hadeedh in finding the true sprit of Islam and it’s positive impact on his life but DID I SAY KRISTINA AND SANIA are same person?????

This book is a source of inspiration for me and the presented arguments deeply touched my heart. I would really recommend this to the people who intentionally or unintentionally complain to Allah whenever faced which difficulties (once in a while everyone do). Last but not least, I am sure you would like to know how SANIA became KRISTINA or vice versa…
